Beschreibung

Eine Reihe von computergerechneten 3D-Stillleben, beruhend auf der freien Komposition von Flächen-, Volumen- und vorgefundenen 3D-Modellobjekten.

Nach einer Einführung in das 3D-Modellier- und Renderingprogramm von Cinema 4D wurden die Studierenden gebeten eine stringente Bildserie von abstrakten, flächigen bis hin zu gegenständlichen, räumlichen Bildkompositionen zu entwickeln. Der Entwurf, die Ausarbeitung und die Bilderzeugung sollten ausschliesslich innerhalb der 3D-Grafik-Software geschehen und so exemplarisch das angebotene Potential an Gestaltungs- und Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten einer solchen 3D-Umgebung ausgelotet werden. Die Studierenden wurden in der Folge Schritt für Schritt an die Software und an ihre Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten herangeführt. Durch nacheinander aufbauende Übungen erarbeiteten die Kursteilnehmer am Computer verschiedene Bild-Stillleben, die in der ersten Phase auf der freien Komposition von Farbe, Fläche und Grundkörper beruhten und sich in der zweiten Phase auf dem freien Arrangement vorgefundener 3D-Modellen aus Internetbibliotheken stützten. Nebst der Vermittlung von wichtigen bildkompositorischen Grundlagen galt es das Gestaltungspotential digitaler 3D-Bearbeitungsmethoden auszuloten.
