Beschreibung

Eine Serie von gebauten Modellszenen und ihren fotografischen Abbildern auf Grundlage der visuellen und stilistischen Bildeigenschaften ausgewählter, prägnanter Filmbeispielen.

In einem ersten Teil des Kurses untersuchten die Studierenden prägnante visuelle Ästhetiken ausgewählter Filmbeispiele. Es galt die stilistischen Eigenschaften und bildkompositorischen Merkmale festzuhalten und die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse mittels Modellbau und Fotografie auf eine Serie neu erdachter Szenen zu übertragen. In Anlehnung an die repräsentativen visuellen Eigenschaften der Filmbeispiele wurden die Teilnehmer gebeten, eine Reihe physischer Modelle zu bauen und diese mittels Fotokamera überzeugend ins Bild zu setzen. Nebst der Wahl des Massstabs, der Materialität und Ausstattung der Modelle, sowie die Realisierung einer konsistenten Lichtregie, waren auch kamerabezogene Kriterien ausschlaggebend für die Bildumsetzung – so zum Beispiel die Position der Kamera, der Blickwinkel, das Bildformat, der Bildausschnitt – wie auch mitunter die Übersetzung und der Miteinbezug der bildkompositorischen Eigenschaften der gewählten Filmvorlage. So sollte aufgezeigt werden, dass mittels Modellbau und Fotografie ausdrucksstarke Bilder zu erzeugen möglich sind und dieser Bildansatz für das Erschaffen von Bildhaptik und Atmosphäre noch immer eine gute Alternative zu den rein computergenerierten 3D-Bildern darstellt.
