Behind the Horizon, 2026

At the core of the works lies the question of how a “beyond the horizon” might be articulated as an imaginary pictorial space: a sphere emancipated from representation, constituted instead as a vibrating field between order and dissolution—an echo, or perhaps a resonance, of the reality we experience on this side of the horizon.

Where the Tangible Dissolves. Abstract and fluid, this work relinquishes all ties to representation. Forms unfold as fields of energy, as vectors of force and movement. Warm and cold intermingle; states of being merge into one another. The horizon tilts, orientation dissolves—there is neither above nor below. Mass loses its cohesion, gravity its ordering function. Materiality remains only as a memory.

Unfolding Matter. A dandelion seed head—the mature form of the dandelion and a symbol of release, renewal, transience, and hope—appears in Unfolding Matter only as a blurred trace, interwoven with a dense, vibrating structure. Figure and ground articulate themselves as a shimmering field between order and dissolution. The motif endures as a distorted image and a fleeting afterimage of our tangible, material reality.

Oscillating Resonance. A fragment of nature—garish, iridescent, and exaggeratedly green, as though lifted from a fairy tale. What initially appears familiar gradually begins to dissolve: contours fray, surfaces shimmer, colours slip into the unreal. Representation becomes fluid, and the visible continuously reorganizes itself. A pictorial space emerges between recognition and disappearance—nature no longer as a fixed point of reference, but as a vibrating configuration that distances itself from material reality while continuing to allude to it.
